The village of Bannockburn has approved the Constuction of a new pedestrian pathway along Wilmot Road, stretching from Telegraph Road to North Avenue. The project scheduled for completion by September 2025, will improve walkability and connectivity for residents. 

Backed by a $25,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the USDA Forest Service, the initiative also includes the removal of invasive species such as buckthorn to enhance the health and appearance of the surrounding area, The pathway supports long-term goals for safer, more accessible infrastructure in Bannockburn.
